He mocked the decadence of the Roccoco period, which was born in France under the reign of Louis the XV when interior and furniture design were flourishing.

He mocked the decadence of the Roccoco period, which was born in France under the reign of Louis the XV when interior and furniture design were flourishing.
Large stately homes and grand banqueting halls were becoming full of this decadent furniture. When these rooms where not in use, the furniture would be covered with white sheets and locked away. It was this mixed feeling between romantic nostalgia and boredom that inspired this clever girls artwork ( I have stumbled across a hidden gem) the furniture no longer existed once under this clothe it was hidden away, abandoned, DEAD no chair, only its memory, its disembodied spirit captured and frozen in time.
bringing this heartfelt rendition of how the ghost chair was created back to the here and now, this piece of furniture’s popularity is ever increasing for the urban inhabitant. They are quite simply space savers, illusionists in their own right tricking the mind and eye into believing they are not really there. Perfect for that “pesky” space you have that you never wuite know what to fill it with.
