Winter Wonderland...

In a corner of Hyde Park, the yearly Winter Wonderland has opened up for the festive season and a winter wonderland it is indeed; full of stalls, rides and other attractions.
The stalls, all decorated with lights and tinsel, are small wooden cabins built to resemble the sort of log cabins you’d find in Lapland. Each one is stocked full of trinkets and small arts and crafts from around the world.
The food stalls are also luxuriously over the top, with the English Food Fair selling traditional hog roasts, fish and chips and real ale.
This however comes at a cost, £4 for a mulled wine in a polystyrene cup in a mock Austrian cabin seems to me to be a little excessive, this of course is only my opinion but i found it to be far from authentic! I really hate to say it and I’m not a Christmas scrooge but Tacky is the only word that sprung to mind,
Luckily after finding our way out of the maze of screaming children and thumping drum and base coming from the rides (which I can’t quite understand how that is Christmassy) we found a quieter part of town to enjoy a yummy Chinese which i hasten to add was one of the best i have ever had.
What starts well ends well?

Pretty from afar though
