Just a few places worth shouting about!

Have been out and about a bit recently and have come across some amazing finds and (in my opinion) some not so amazing finds! but thought i would share with you what i have found so you and go forth and try them yourselves.

First on the list Brompton Bar and Grill.
The pleasant ambient atmosphere as you walk in coupled with the aromas of freshly cooked food are there to greet on arrival. The staff are extremely friendly and usher you towards the small bar should your table not be ready.
Once at the bar you will find an array of delicious absinthe cocktails, my personal favourite is the absinthe and champagne, strangely addictive!
The food also doesnt disappoint, they offer an extremely good seasonal menu.
what did I have

Mushroom Ravioli in Pea Broth with a parmasan crisp

Grilled Cod on a bed of lentils and chorizo with chilli oil and parsley
and no pudding!!! but they looked delish as well!

highly recommend teamed with good company!

3 more places to definitely Try

Firstly the Sands End in Fulham for their brunch, well priced and huge varied menu that they serve all day on Saturday.

Meat Liquor in Welbeck Street
Rather pretentious attitude towards the non booking system! and you cant view a menu on line, but to be honest none of that matters, we queued for no more than 20 minutes and it was worth it,
Its essentially a vamped up burger parlour! with rude names for cocktails and the loo's are labelled chicks and dicks!! There's a DJ standing over in a corner mixing some beats!!!! which means you have to scream at each other or not talk! and the lighting is dim with everyone huddling around candles on the table to see what they are eating.
It has got a lot of negative press this place, but then anywhere does that breaks the mould a bit, it certainly wont appeal to everyone.
But I LOVE IT!
I had a "donkey punch" which contained Vodka, Lime, ginger bear and Absinthe! I then tried a French cyder! Not recommended!!!
onto the food..... EPIC! I have never seen such a grotesque amount! piles of onion rings (the best you will ever have), tons of chips, chilli fries, battered gherkins! and burgers. The food was good, not amazing but you get what you pay for and the prices are good.

onto something a littler different
Thaiphoon on the Wandsworth Bridge Road http://www.thaiphoon.net/

ABSOLUTELY DELICIOUS
Fresh authentic Thai food, the service is quick, modern clean restaurant with a Wagamama style seating arrangement, the menu is extensive with some less familiar dishes, and to top it off they have their own deli where you can buy everything to make their deslicous curry's at home, along with canapés for parties! they are onto a winner and I wish them lots of success.
Try the Massaman Curry!

Where don't I recommend!!
Wahacca! I heard such great things and was sorely disappointed! I cant blame it entirely on the food being too spicy as it is a Mexican restaurant! but I did choke on chilli! and in doing so spat my food out and dropped my cutlery all over the floor!!
The tortillas were like dry flaky leather and the mushrooms had a soggy stale taste to them!
lots will disagree but I wont be going again!
cocktails on the other hand were good!

These there quite good but cant really go wrong with a tomato salsa and tortillas!!

Ginger and Lime cocktail.

Spring is on its way!

Planted a few bulbs in my lunch break!!
Also made use of some old Jars along with some beautiful antique lace that my grandma kindly gave me to bring spring indoors as well.

They make beautiful gifts and flower for weeks, releasing a beautiful scent.
simply plant the bulbs in the different size jars add some compost with a bit of extra feed in (as they wont get the nutrients from outside) and voilà a beautiful indoor plant that doesn't look naff!

Once the flowers are over, just dig them out either dry the bulbs or just plant in garden and they will pop up again year after year. You can also put them in just water which looks rather pretty especially when the roots start to fill up the jars.

Of course a it isn't essential to have a silly Dachshund helping you! but they are extremely keen gardeners!

How very quintessentially British!
Give it a go
